Technology Solutions

Developing modeling, simulation and game-based solutions to support customer requirements.

Overview

MYMIC’s Technology Development unit combines practical expertise with the knowledge gained from research and experimentation to deliver innovative, relevant and practical solutions that support decision makers. Every solution is developed with the organization in mind enabling holistic, contextually based solutions that can be rapidly implemented leveraging state of the art technologies such as modeling, simulation and visualization.

Provider of simulation and analysis to support decision making applied to end-to-end logistics and executable architecture.

Technology Solution Sectors

TRAINING

Integrator for training solutions including requirements analysis, content development and application of simulation and gaming technology and training effectiveness.

LOGISTICS

MYMIC's Logistics Sector supports modeling and analysis of complex logistical networks for military, government and commercial customers. We start with clearly identifying and articulating that a customer wants us to solve. We do a comprehensive front-end analysis of a customer's logistical network to identify key nodes and links and related infrastructure, resources and processes. We then develop a software model for the real-world network and provide detailed analyses using data generated by the model.

Human Modeling

MYMIC's Human Modeling sector addresses work in support of the human sciences. Often teaming with scientists from multiple human study disciplines, MYMIC conducts research and analysis and develops simulation tools to understand and improve upon human capability.

MYMIC has been a leader in the association of modeling and simulation with the human sciences, including creation of a local Hampton Roads Virginia Human Modeling Group. The HM Group is dedicated to researching and exploring new avenues of human behavior modeling bringing together the brightest minds in the region to tackle the problems within this field.

Some Human Modeling sector work has included research and development of the Learning Enriched Virtual Environment, a cutting edge method to maximize the learning capabilities of virtual simulations; identification of cross-cultural competencies; work in augmented cognition; and work in neuro-cognition.

MEDICAL

MYMIC's Medical sector works to develop modeling and simulation solutions in the medical field. Often teaming with doctors and scientists from academic institutes, MYMIC conducts research and analysis and develops simulation tools to address areas across the medical domain.

Some Medical sector work has included research and development of the Complex Incident Response Training System (CIRTS). CIRTS is a family of game-based systems designed to train high-priority, low-density specialists and small teams who function in high stress situations and in close synchronization with external organizations such as tactical units. In addition to the CIRTS family of games MYMIC has conducted research and development of simulations for the treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

EDUCATION

MYMIC's Education Sector creates applications of emerging immersive technologies to enable more effective learning and develops customized simulation and game development technology curriculum for integration into secondary and post-secondary programs of instruction. MYMIC's brings its extensive experience in the analysis, development, and assessment of simulation, gaming, and training technologies into the "virtual" classroom. We start with a deep analysis of the learning objectives and the educational environment. This drives the methodology and the immersive technologies selected to create the customized learning system. MYMIC's learning technology portfolio spans the continuum from handheld devices such as iPhone and Android Smart Phones to tablet systems like the iPad into fully immersive Virtual World and Mixed-Reality technologies where the students can interact directly with the learning content.

MYMIC works with educational institutions to expand their STEM curriculum to include simulation and game development courses that enable students to move from just playing computer games they purchase to building Virtual Worlds they can create. This curriculum is customized to the level of the students and the educational setting. It can readily support the classic computer lab in a brick and mortar setting or employ its inherent capabilities to enable distributed virtual classroom learning.
